Parent Fundraising
The Parent Association is also designed to raise funds to benefit the children of Community Magnet School. Funds are used to enrich the education of our children. As a non-profit association, the CSPA is tax-exempt, allowing donations to be tax-deductible.
The Ways and Means Committee with input from parents and staff, considers ways to raise money and decides how these moneys should be distributed to best support the students. Over the past few year, funds have gone toward teacher’s aides, drama and movement enrichment, library and computer support, computers, copy machine service, teacher stipends for instructional materials, conference attendance for teachers, field trips, and school beautification, to name a few.
A pledge drive each fall is conducted with a mass mailing to all Community Magnet School families. Donations are tax deductible. Moneys are used at Community Magnet School, for example, to fund enrichment programs, provide equipment and materials for the school, and to fund field trips.
CSPA sponsors fund raisers throughout the year. All proceeds fund special programs and fulfill other needs of Community Magnet School students.
Community Magnet School Sweatshirts and Tee Shirts are sold at Back-to-School Night, or you can order them by filling out a form that your child will bring home and returning it with the appropriate payment. Otherwise, contact or send a note to the office. Students are encouraged and rewarded for wearing these shirts to Friday morning Recognition/School Spirit Assemblies. |
