Community Council is the chief decision-making body for Community Magnet Charter School.  Council has the sole authority for all aspects of the school’s operation in areas such as curriculum, budgeting district funds, personnel, enrichment, and school safety.

The structure of Community Council requires that six parent members are elected each year to represent each of the six grade levels K-5 (two parents may share one position).  If you are elected to Council, your commitment to the parents at your grade level will be very important.  Each grade level representative is expected to attend all Community Council Meetings and share pertinent information with families at the grade level in a timely manner.  Council will meet at least once each month on Monday afternoons from 3:30-4:30pm. The term of office for Grade Level Representatives is one year.

Parents may nominate themselves to represent only one grade level.  You cannot be a regular employee of the Community Magnet Charter School or a current board member of CFF (The CFF president selects a representative to attend Council meetings).

Thank you in advance for your commitment to our students.  If you have any questions about Council or the election process, please contact Principal Toni.
