Parent involvement is one of the factors that allow Community to provide our students with such a wonderful learning environment.

We greatly appreciate all of our volunteers who provide assistance during the school day and those that provide support at home after hours. As of July 1, 2016, LAUSD updated the district’s volunteer policy which now requires annual approval and processing by the school site.  There are different types of school volunteers and the requirements vary.   Information about school volunteers can be found at

Due to the volume of support we receive from volunteers, our school staff will annually take the preliminary step for occasional volunteers (i.e. one-time field trip chaperone (day trip), Parade of Masks volunteer, multicultural celebration helper, etc.) and clear all parents through the Megan’s Law Database.

If you would like to volunteer on an on-going basis, (i.e. frequent classroom volunteer/reader, CATCH mentor, or 5th grade overnight trip chaperone, etc.) you will need to complete the on-line volunteer application on the LAUSD website (   Please follow the directions provided on the website and deliver a copy of the application, Volunteer Commitment Form, and TB results clearance to our main office.  TB clearance can be provided by a physician by a skin test or Tuberculosis Risk Assessment. If you were a district approved volunteer last year, your TB results are valid for 4 years.

Once the applications have been reviewed and approved at the school site, the application will be forwarded to the district’s volunteer office for final approval.   Our school staff will contact applicants when district approval is received.

If you have questions about volunteering or the volunteer application process, please contact Kryshawna or Maria in the Main Office.
